Le Petit Bistro

Hidden amongst the coffee shops, tourist offices and clothes shops at 34 Tran Quang Khai street is a slice of France that has been around in Nha Trang since 2001. That “French” feel as you set foot inside, think pastries, espresso cafe, red wine, Escargots, Duck confit, the ambience, the visual feast of eclectic artwork , dark hued walls and vintage chairs all whisk you off to France. Outside, the courtyard is delightful. A peaceful oasis, surrounded by French photographer Thiery Beyne’s visual feast of back photography. Tread the well-worn timber boards upstairs and you enter a most charming balcony area. This is a place where you could easily kick back with friends, enjoy a red wine or two from owner Claud’s extensive collection, and indulge in some fine cuisine. The menu is extensive with lunch specials of ‘Plat Du Jour’ or plate of the day at 99,000 Vnd providing at least another six reasons to return. From early morning there is a wide selection of pastries, eggs, crepes and fruit or go for the combo breakfast with the lot, and served of course, with an espresso, hot or cold coffees, English breakfast tea or a cool juice. Claude has now introduced a mouthwatering Sunday treat. Roasted Suckling Pig, with that crispy skin that everyone enjoys. At 250,000 it is a wonderful way to while away a few hours on a Sunday afternoon.

Yashoda Indian Restaurant

Yashoda Indian Restaurant, located in the heart of the tourist zone is quickly gaining the reputation of serving up some of the best Indian food in Nha Trang. Opened for a couple of months now, and staffed with an all Indian team, including two chefs, each with their own specialty, this restaurant is not what you would normally expect of one from the sub-continent. No sequin pillows and beaded curtains here. A bright contemporary dining area, comfortable banquet booths, and chilled out music sets the mood for a delicious meal. They are serving up all the classic Indian dishes, along with a number of vegetarian ones. Kick off with some chicken samosas, and jump straight into a delicious Butter Chicken, or maybe a lamb Rogan Josh, a chicken Biryani or a spicy curry with a garlic naan bread or chappati? Fish lovers are also well catered for, with a hot fish curry cooked in an assortment of spices with ginger, tomato, onion, tamarind, and coconut milk, along with other mouthwatering seafood offerings. Their drinks menu will quench your thirst, with fresh juices, yoghurt delights and a range of local and imported beers and spirits.
