Da Nang International Airport has been crowned the best airport in Vietnam.
As Dan Tri reports, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) conducted a survey, asking almost 21,000 travelers to rate the quality of service of Vietnam’s various airports. And the passengers have spoken: Da Nang’s aerodrome comes out on top, followed by Hanoi’s Noi Bai then Saigon’s Tan Son Nhat.
The central Vietnam facility attained an average score of 4.19 — compiled from several different categories — while Noi Bai wasn’t too far behind at 4.13. Tan Son Nhat got an average of 3.96.
Commuters rated Da Nang Airport highly on several criteria, including attitude of airport staff (4.34), service quality of airport staff (4.32), airport space (4.28), signposts to check-in area (4.27) and number of available carts (4.24).
Still, there are a few areas of improvement, which were scored lower than 4. These include: noise level in terminals, quality of Wi-Fi, number of taxis and their fares, and availability of free drinking water fountains.
Back in May last year, the airport officially put in use its new T2 Terminal with an additional 40 check-in counters, 42 immigration gates and ten more departure gates. The expansion was expected to serve six million passengers annually.
Vietnam’s transport officials have some major ambitions regarding its aviation industry and the potential for trade and tourism that air routes could bring. In February this year, the government announced a master plan to upgrade the 21 current airports as well as commencing construction of new ones such as Long Thanh International Aiport and Sapa Airport by 2020.[Photo via EMS Vietnam]
